Abstract:
This study analyzed school registers of children and adolescents situated in the school context. The goal of the research consisted in getting to know the different realities related to violence practiced against children and adolescents as well as the violence between the students themselves. It was necessary to deal with the different concepts of violence existent in the literature, as well as deal with the contextualization of the family institution and new changes within the family in contemporaneity, challenging, more and more, the school institution and the State itself in the fulfillment of the laws and responsibilities toward sons and daughters in situations of vulnerability. The documental method was used, with registers of individual cases in two private schools, situated in the Federal District. The violence observed in the respective documents pointed to various factors which motivated it, mainly the irresponsibility of many fathers and mothers, distant from caring for their children. In this sense the role of the school is essential for guaranteeing the rights foreseen in law, specifically the Statute of the Child and Adolescent.
