Abstract:
This study on “Environmental Ethos in Religious Education in Confessional Schools in the Amazon” presents the possible relationships and contributions between Religious Education and Environmental Education, as components of an Environmental Ethos in the 5th Years of Elementary School I in four Confessional Schools in the City of Manaus. Firstly, it was sought, through documentary research, to identify the subject of study in the PPPs, Teaching Plans and Curricular Contents. Through questionnaires to the management team, coordinators and teachers of the schools involved, the relationship was found in the objectification of the proposed theme. After that, the observation of classes in schools was carried out with the objective of identifying, through the activities, registers of the theme, followed by research carried out with the students, aiming at the understanding of their Environmental Ethos, using for this, the listening to four popular tunes from the Amazon universe, specifically sung by the Bois Bumbás, Garantido and Caprichoso of the city of Parintins on the environmental theme. The students made drawings referring to their representations about the lyrics of the songs and the Amazonian environmental context. The results indicated that the students have an understanding of the Environmental Ethos developed in the schools under study.
