Resumo:
In this dissertation we intend to perform a critical analysis of the media's performance in society, regarding their ethical and moral behavior, as assumptions for the construction of quality information and committed to social development, taking into account the importance of the journalist's role in keeping with his code of professional ethics as an instrument for moral and ethical regulation of the actions developed, the challenges encountered for the daily development of his professional activity in an environment with strong interventions by political and financial groups with individual interests which contributes to the interference of citizen education in the social context of the country, as well as analyzing ethical principles in the construction of moral values between communication institutions and their public. It also seeks to understand the intervention and presence of religious power in relation to mass media, its strength and notableness in the use of this instrument as a way of evangelizing the public, which has occurred in recent years, especially at a time when the truth that liberates is used for electoral purposes. As a methodology for the present research, we carried out a bibliographical research of vast published material, such as searches in newspapers, magazines and sites related to the proposed theme. We conclude that the media have a strong political influence, given their dominance by the said class; that economic groups hold a large part of the media in Brazil and that, because of this dominance of the current media, there is a strong influence of these institutions in the formation of citizenship of the people, which results in the directioning of their opinions and important decisions, which they are led to take in their life in society.
