Abstract:
This dissertation focus is ethics in the educational context. Thus, the reality of the Educational Childhood Municipal Center Our Lady of Peace, a public municipal educational institution working in the educational system in Teresina, in the state of Piaui, was investigated,. The investigation was centered on the importance and contribution of ethics for the teachers’ pedagogic practice with the intent of verifying how the ethical principles are lived out or not lived out in the school management in a perspective of the organization of the institution. Besides this, the training of professionals was observed aiming at a reflexive and emancipatory pedagogical practice. In line with the focus of the investigation, theoretical foundation was sought based on the conceptions and commentaries of authors among which can be cited the names of Andrade, Perrenoud, Lück, Brasil and Salermo. Then, a theoretical base began to be built in relation to the theme presented for study, this first moment of research being thus characterized as bibliographic. In a second moment, a philosophical base of study was structured, where the conceptions of Aristóteles, Cortella, Amorim, Kohlberg and Imannuel Kant are reviewed with regard to the concept of ethics and its application to daily school life. Using the theoretical knowledge acquired about democratic and participative management and having a theoretical foundation, the investigation arrives at the practical field which is consolidated based on the analysis of the teaching entity cited above. In this context, readings of documents of extreme importance were carried out, these being the Legislations of Brazilian National Education (Federal Constitution of 1988 and the Law of Guidelines and Basis of National Education – LDB nº 9394/96), the Child and Adolescent Statute, the Curricular Referencial for Primary Education, the Curricular Parameters of Primary Education and the documents of the school., such as the Political Pedagogical Project and Planning Report, elaborated based on direct simple and non-structured observations. The documental analysis of the teaching entity researched made it possible to have a broader vision of the applicability of the ethical principles in the daily life of the educational institution. In this aspect, it is pertinent to emphasize that the research is of documental character, since the proposed analysis uses as referencial for appreciation the reading of the above mentioned documents which made it possible to arrive at the final considerations and signal the need for the continuity of study in future projects of a doctorate in which one can braoden the extension of the investigation and, certainly, the instruments of analysis.
