Abstract:
Religious Education as a curricular component can be seen as a great potential for inclusive education. After all, it has characteristics that, if well explored, can strengthen the process of school inclusion, working on valuing and respecting what is different, strengthening dialogue and critical thinking about the existence of human beings. In addition, it helps to reduce possible situations of conflict that have as their main source prejudice against what is different. Therefore, this research aimed to reflect on the importance of Religious Education in the formation of values that enhance the process of school inclusion. To achieve this objective, it was necessary to map the construction of special education and inclusive education in Brazil, Religious Education in the National Common Curricular Base, and also sought to understand how Religious Education can collaborate in school inclusion. After completing these steps, a Planning Proposal for Promoting Inclusion in Education through Religious Education was created. Finally, the importance of collaboration between different education professionals was noted, including teachers of Specialized Educational Services (AEE) and Religious Education teachers, for the construction of inclusive education. However, for this to happen, teachers and schools need to be in tune with their objectives and responsibilities, and teacher training also needs to be considered, so that a dialogue can be built around the topic.
