Resumo:
The present professional master's final work deals with the mandatory curricular component of Religious Education in the municipal education network of Jacundá, in the state of Pará. The problem raised in the research was: how is the curricular component of Religious Education represented by the school community based on pedagogical practices, its curriculum and mediated by teacher training and current legislation? The objective of the study is to investigate how the component of Religious Education is represented in the network of the municipal education system of Jacundá. The research is of the bibliographic and documentary type, supported, particularly, on the legal bases that deal with Religious Education in basic education, especially in elementary education. A qualitative approach was followed in the theoretical-methodological framework, based on the categories of secularism and the right to education. The research revealed that it is necessary to follow a path for the implementation of a curricular component of Religious Education, based on an educational practice based on diversity and cultural plurality of ideas, where dialogue and tolerance can exist. In this way, it is possible to provide an integral formation of the student toward diversity and respect for those who are different, based on religiosity, religion and non-religion.
