Resumo:
The research is inserted in the debates and reflections about adolescence and Confirmation classes in the Evangelical Church of Lutheran Confession in Brazil (IECLB) based on the Harry Potter series. The methodological development was constituted through lived religion as a hermeneutical instrument of Practical Theology to investigate the religious phenomenon, which is not restricted to ecclesiastical practice. Faced with a process that often becomes obsolete with adolescents, Confirmation classes have been the subject of several debates since the 1960s and 1970s, especially regarding its relevance both from the perspective of institutional guiding parameters and through the impact on the lives of those who participate. Faced with this problem, the aim of this work is to raise up some developments of the Harry Potter phenomenon and its relationship with adolescence in order to propose new paths that give new meaning to Confirmation classes. For such an analysis, the series will be investigated mainly based on its character as a secular rite of passage and as a contemporary media and technological phenomenon, so that it represents both an appeal for maturity and also the transformations of digital culture in the last thirty years. The unfolding of this path will be presented through a thematic and a structural approach.
