Abstract:
The theme of this research is Counseling with women in situations of violence, based on Community Accompaniment. It elucidates what is considered violence against women, the numbers of violence against women, the types of violence and the cycle of violence against women. It deals with how this violence takes place day to day, in society as well as in the Christian communities; it cites important steps that already exist to confront violence against women. It defends Community Accompaniment as a form of Counseling, support and help for these women. For this, it conceptualizes Community Counseling, highlighting the importance of the Christian community and of the small groups in the life of these women who are faced with or have been faced with situations of violence. The research recovers the issue of care in Community Counseling and presents Jesus as the greatest example of this care. It reflects about the support networks and how these networks can contribute in confronting violence against women. It deals with the theme of resilience showing how it is possible for abused women to come out strengthened from the trauma suffered by the violence. It cites the Christian communities, as well as the small groups, as important tools in the life of the women who face or have faced situations of violence to arrive at resilient processes.
