Abstract:
This study deals with natural birth and faith, empowerment of the woman with nursing care, founded on a harmony between receptivity and non-invasive cares such as massage therapy during labor. The investigation took place through field research with a descriptive characteristic and a qualitative approach, the goal of which was to analyze the woman’s perception of the care received from the nursing team during the natural birthing process at the Maternity of the Municipal Hospital of Santarém in Pará. In the presentation of the research the relation between pain and birthing, reception and cares during labor, personal faith and empowerment of women in the birthing process are dealt with in a scientific way. The analyses of the questionnaires reveal the importance of the care given, which was perceived by the birthing mothers as positive. They evaluated the reception, the cares such as massage during the moment of labor and the support through spirituality and personal faith in God. Those interviewed reported how they felt encouragement, diminishing the fear during labor. In this way, the conclusion is that the study shows that the support resource of the nursing team in the construction of the empowerment of the pregnant woman toward natural birth is important and possible, seeking to attend her not only with technical knowledge of the area but also with the psychological, emotional and spiritual aspects, valuing the personal beliefs and the human essence.
