Abstract:
The goal of this paper was to analyze the importance of managing by competency for the organizations in light of moral values, ethical principles and spirituality. To reach the goal of the research it was necessary to initially study the advances of management by competency through a process of historical construction, its dimensions, approaches and development, as well as its applicability in organizations of contemporaneity, contemplating and considering the moral values of the individual, ethical principles of the organization and spirituality. The relevance of the work is based on the need to elucidate the importance of management by competency for the organizations in their essential and organizational aspects as an instrument which can potentialize the practices of management. For this the contribution of authors who analyze management by competency from different perspectives were sought, we opted for the use of the humanistic approach and the organizational praxis, which involved the dimensions: knowledge, abilities, attitudes, values and spirituality. This permitted a dialogical look between the social and relational aspects. Thus, one hopes to contribute with those who daily confront the complexities of working in a highly competitive market, contributing to the construction of a reflection about the necessary competencies for survival and for permanence in the market, demonstrating that competencies added to a continuous quest for knowledge and for the maintenance of an ethical conduct are the base for the formation of a culture of learning in the organizations.
