Resumo:
Since the end of the 20th century, Brazilian society has advanced with discussions regarding gender, with an increase of scientific studies in various areas of knowledge. These advances, however, have been opposed especially by conservative sectors in face of the presentation of the National Education Plan in 2014. This research study enters this scenario as a collaboration from the school field, since schools play an important role in the construction of human relationships, including gender relations. Although Brazilian society is formed by women and men, power relations give more opportunities and advantages to men, also in school – a place that is markedly feminine in terms of work, but it reveals a masculine preponderance in decision making. Discussing concepts related to gender studies, identifying their implications for everyday school life, and seeking solutions that aim at a more pluralistic system of education, with respect for gender diversity, are the objectives pursued in this epistemological journey.
