Resumo:
This Master´s thesis has as its theme the teaching of mathematics with the Suruí indigenous people. Upon observing the difficulty presented by the Suruí in mathematics at the Federal Institute of Rondônia, in the city of Cacoal, RO, there was a proposal to use ethno-mathematics as a pedagogical tool to teach mathematics to the Suruí. The indigenous autonomy, with the end of the guardianship of Brazil, makes it possible for the indigenous to value their history and their reality, having their education as the motto for this goal. In this way, through bibliographic study, after a contextual reflection of the indigenous in Brazil and of the Suruí, emphasizing the issue of indigenous education, one reflects about ethnoknowledge and, consequently, on ethno-mathematics in the Suruí indigenous education, considering the indigenous knowledge.
