Abstract:
This research investigates the Projeto Trilhos Sonoros (Sonorous Tracks Project) as a social-Christian Project at the service of the missio Dei in the periphery. The Projeto Trilhos Sonoros is an action developed in the periphery of Canoas with children and adolescents in permanent situations of social vulnerability. It began in the year 2011 with children’s musicalization beginning with the recorder and the creation of small groups for artistic presentations in the community. The Project gained a new dimension based on studies about Practical Theology which has as one of its endeavors action directed toward families, non-profit organizations and social justice movements, and besides this, seeks coherence between discourse and a reflective and transforming practice. In this perspective, the research brings to light a discourse about transformation based on theoretical referentials which dialog about justice and making current God’s love for the poor, but, at the same time, it presents a practical action based on reflections which makes possible an effective transformation in the context where the Projeto Trilhos Sonoros is inserted. Thus, the research presents, in the first chapter, the empirical field where the study was carried out seeking to dialog with the authors who talk about violence, poverty and the stigma of living in the periphery, while at the same time revealing indicators of the action of the missio Dei despite the absence of a more effective action of the local church. In the second chapter, the methodological trajectory of the research is presented taking as a base the presuppositions of the action-research as a research method which, besides raising data, proposes transforming actions. The third chapter presents the Projeto Trilhos Sonoros as an action of musical education developed with children and adolescents of the periphery. The fourth chapter is founded on the concept of Spiritual Community as proposed by Paul Tillich and on a new paradigm for Mission Theology presented by David Bosch. The fifth chapter discusses musical education in the periphery seeking to point to a more humanizing action based on music. The sixth chapter analyzes and interprets the data of the research. Finally, the seventh chapter presents a proposal of continuity for the Projeto Trilhos Sonoros based on the action-research
