Resumen:
Observing the social problems as a whole, and with the concern about the paths that education is taking, we sought, through a reflective effort, to understand the importance of the school administration in a democratic perspective aimed at basic needs and the fulfillment of the individuals. In this paper, we comprehend that the commitment to the democratic practice and to exercising citizenship becomes concrete in the life experience of cooperative and solidary human relations, from whence the struggle for the transformation of society. The democratic school administration is not just a technical activity. It is also directed toward the values and the social role of education, which facilitates and instigates the construction and implantation of the political-pedagogical project which should assume plurality and diversity as a democratic value. Beyond this, we understand here that the process of administration is not the exclusive role of the school administrator, but of carrying out a participative process involving all of the social segments which make up the school Thus the need for this research, since the proposed study makes possible a deepening of the theme, presenting to the reader a reflection about the role of the school administrator as it relates to the theory and the practice, to its importance and competence in the face of the challenges and the changes contemporary education.
