Abstract:
The theme of this thesis is evangelization in the Assembly of God Evangelical Church. Based on its history in Brazil, it analyzes how the evangelization took place since its origins. Through bibliographic study and with the presentation of the evangelization in the Assembly of God in the Amazon, it reflects on evangelization and its transformation imposed by the mutations of society. The traditions remain incorporated in the Assembly of God – since they are what characterize it as Assembly of God – but there is a utilization of tools offered by modernity for evangelization, be they for reaching the believers in the places where they are, be they to understand the new languages and thus be able to communicate. There is a need to adapt to the changes in the sense of understanding the new languages and ways of communication but without losing the essence of the Christian message. Finally, one highlights the Christian ethical responsibility in the evangelizing action with regard to its believers and in the multicultural relations.
