Abstract:
To wish that work could be more inspiring and motivating for people can be one of the engagement functions and this can induce organizations to seek ways to cultivate it in their culture, bringing benefits to all involved in this mission. By the way, organizational culture, as well as leadership and justice are essential prerequisites for obtaining this ideal, treated as indispensable antecedents by some theorists. Engagement can be viewed both by positive psychology as well as by the business world and it is precisely for these two segments that this work has the general objective of correlating Christian values with corporate engagement models suggested by William Macey, Wilmar Schaufeli and Peter Cheese. Comprehended among these Christian values are: community life, care, trust, otherness, dialogue, justice, hope and love. There is no single definition of values, but it is appropriate that they be rooted in a comprehensive and in-depth view of the world and the concrete needs of life. This study is characterized by a qualitative approach with a literature search procedure, where the analyses through interpretive readings concluded that all the afore-mentioned Christian values can be attributed to the corporate models of engagement. The text is structured beginning with an introduction which presents a brief reflection on the business practice and its relationship with the collaborator, making room for discussion about engagement. It also clarifies the problematization of the study and its purposes, as well as the methodological proposition for the research. The theoretical framework is the next chapter with emphasis on three core themes: engagement and its connection with positive psychology and the business world and the concepts of values, both individual and corporate. The next topics present the analysis of engagement models from the perspective of attributing Christian values and the correlation of such values to the three corporate models, bringing, at the end, the final considerations in which it was possible to point out as a result of this research, the correlation of all Christian values mentioned above to the three models of engagement.
