Resumo:
The goal of this paper is to analyze the importance of teaching Philosophy and of the practice of Reading in Education in 9th grade, as a support for learning for the creative, cognitive and social development of the students and as a basic element for a balanced and conscious growth. Based on a substantiated bibliographic research, mainly, on the studies of Kohan (2002), Freire (1996), Cagliari (1998), Santaella (2004), Piaget (2011) and Kleiman (1995) we sought to verify the practice of reading, emphasizing the act of reading as a process for codifying Writing, and at the same time, analyze the discipline of Philosophy as knowledge for the student to awaken a critical thinking about the reality that surrounds him/her. The work also makes reference to the methodology of the professor used to associate philosophic knowledge to the current practices of Reading in the classroom. Thus it was possible to observe more clearly how the process of teaching and learning Reading and Philosophy in the school as part of the life of the students in learning institutions takes place. To educate, however, demands the construction and growth of the individual as a whole being.
