Resumo:
The increasing of expectancy of the population combined to the improvement in
quality of live turns possible to experience aging in a more creative way, with
many possibilities targeted to this audience. The progress of HIV/AIDS among
the elderly population brings out factors that until then remained hidden, as the
experience of sexuality in this age group. The number of elderly women infected
by HIV has increased significantly. The object of this research is the study of the
HIV/AIDS in the experience of elderly women highlighting pastoral care as an
art of empowerment and support. The research aims to present elements of the
daily life of those who lives with HIV/AIDS, pointing the challenges those people
have before themselves, through the contact to Casa Fonte Colombo, but also
pointing the opportunities and positive experiences that can arise through
pastoral care as an element of information, comfort and growth.
