Abstract:
The study discusses the Bible as literature and analyses its didactic and pedagogical proposal for making the child personality. It aims achieve its proposal through a historical redemption of the child in the western society and its construction process within the educational programs, where literature stands out, as pedagogical proposal for instruction. Literature has always influenced society and, for children, it is an allied required for constructing reality by symbolic representation discussed by the histories narrative art. The Bible is currently the oldest literature most read, and it attracts and catches readers for many reasons. Such a complex book may serve as pedagogic document of child education. Its beauty lies in the fact that it is a web of stories, where there is no clear line between supernatural and natural. God is the Hero, who fights against villains. God is the possibility of redeeming life. Because of the character God, chaos may be reestablished and harmony can start reigning again. The Bible is this, a web, where God, anti-gods, heroes, anti-heroes, apocalyptic monsters, chaos, abysms, heavens, hells, pain, suffering, peace, harmony etc., provide the narrator material enough to make stories, where God is always the Redeemer, which enables the construction of a reality leading to a safe life.
