Abstract:
This work proposes an approach to Pastoral Counseling, based on the printed literature of the Assemblies of God church, through a reinterpretation of the perspective of care based on Pentecostal theology. In short, this work presents the historical context that led the pioneers of the Brazilian Assemblies of God to turn their attention to pastoral care, as well as a proposal for dialogue between Pentecostal pastoral counseling and the four models of pastoral counseling currently present in Latin America, namely: the biblical counseling model; the evangelical counseling model; the liberation and growth counseling model and the contextual counseling model. Therefore, based on theological foundations in the printed documents of the Assemblies of God, on pastoral care, we present a proposal for a theory of Pentecostal pastoral counseling.
