Abstract:
The researcher, as minister of the Evangelical Church of Lutheran Confession in Brazil (IECLB), investigates the work and the accompaniment with young people of the Church. Based on this, it studies the changes in the understanding of faith and of human beings in the contemporary world, especially among young people. This approach is based on the materials, methodological and theological proposals, as well as the themes addressed by the IECLB in materials for young people. Thus, the central question of this research arises: How can accompaniment for and with young people, based on its structure, methodological and theological proposal, contribute to work for and with young people in the IECLB, taking into account the characteristic changes of contemporary times? In the first chapter, we present the social and cultural reality of young people in the larger context of the country and, therefore, of Western culture. Based on this, the challenges and opportunities for Christian communities are analyzed. In the second chapter, we observe the possibilities and paths that are being taken by the IECLB in its work with Evangelical Youth. At first, there is a historical recovery that is followed by a study and deepening of the initiatives of the last decade. In the third chapter, we point out five tracks of action with the youth, namely: diakonia, God's Trinitarian dialogue, the life project, hybrid and overlapping encounters of youth and youth advice.
