Abstract:
The general objective of this study was to identify and analyze the evidence that could indicate the influence of ethics in the competency management process in a federal educational institution in Brazil. The research is justified by the relevance of people in organizations to reach their goals. The choice of the object of investigation is due to the institutional decision to implement and operationalize the competency management process. In methodological terms, it is a case study, with a quali-quantitative approach, as it understands that the adopted procedures made it possible to organize, interpret and better relate the parameters adopted to consolidate the individual and collective perception of the problem addressed. The collection instrument used obtained 233 responses, which represented an amount higher than the minimum sample required. The analysis of collected opinions showed that the process of implementing management of people by competencies is still under construction, in addition to pointing to the need to strengthen an ethical behavior of the collaborating people, based on care and responsibility, to reach the organizational objectives.
