Resumo:
Gospel and worship are themes that are not always related to each other in Christian communities. The relevant questions are: What does the gospel of Revelation 14.6-7 consist of? What is the meaning of worship there? How can these expressions bring change to Christian communities? Understanding the background of the central message in the book of Revelation, this study investigated a relationship between εὐαγγέλιον (gospel) and proskunei/n (worship) in Revelation 14.6-7 and its implications for living in a faith based community. This work is divided in three chapters: The first chapter will research the historical context of the book of Revelation seeking to understand how the two themes are related at the time that it was written. The next chapter will examine the exegetical and theological meaning of the expressions εὐαγγέλιον (gospel) and proskunei/n (worship), their relationship within the selected text, and with the rest of the book under study. In the last part, will look at the implications of gospel and worship for the life of the Christian community and how it can be applied. The theme of gospel and cultic and liturgical worship runs through the entire book of Revelation, but in chapter 14, verses 6-7, there is a shift of focus toward worship that involves the practice of Christian ethics. The ethics of this worship are expressed in God's service, neighbor, and caring for nature.
