Resumen:
The ethical professional practice in civil construction is done in compliance with the laws, in the commitment to sustainable development, through care for the environment, through the rational use of natural resources and reduction of waste production and emission of polluting gases. In the business environment, in an increasingly demanding market, it is necessary to form a cohesive team committed to achieving quality objectives and reducing waste. The code of professional ethics of engineers emphasizes these requirements, as well as the need to practice social responsibility, which means contributing to meeting social demands as compensation for the use of natural resources. Thus, the first chapter presents the professional and business ethics, going more deeply into the sphere of social and environmental responsibility, listing the supporting bodies in the implementation. The second chapter deals with sustainable development, showing the concepts involved, characteristics of sustainable enterprises and contributions so that future generations can enjoy natural resources satisfactorily. The third chapter presents the environmental management, listing the related concepts, the direct and indirect benefits, aspects of environmental management in construction and the understood norms. For organizations to show society a positive image, it is also necessary to offer products and services with low environmental cost and good social results, but at the same time be qualified. Thus, companies should be concerned about humanely managing their people, making them develop team spirit to fully perform their job functions. This is possible through strategies for maintaining a harmonious work environment that is conducive to the spiritual and professional growth of employees. Then, the last chapter addresses the principles involved in quality management and people management, as well as the importance of the staff for quality and the exercise of spirituality within companies.
