Hospitalidade hermenêutica: entre a fragilidade e o compromisso, um caminho para o diálogo inter-religioso

Abstract

This paper aims at dealing with the theme of inter-religious dialog. Faced with such a plural Brazil and with many religious expressions the need of such a relevant theme increases. Violence, intolerance and injustice are characteristics of many of the encounters between different religions. This paper aims first, to synthesize the history of the ecumenical movement in the world perspective, more specifically, in Latin America and Brazil. Next, it has as its goal to show possible theological paths based on Christianity, when it is in dialog with other religions. For this, it recurs to the theology of the religions and its main paradigms: exclusivist, inclusive, pluralist and particularist. After this the theme of inter-religious dialog will be dealt with through a reformulation of the particularist model based on the theologian Marianne Moyaert and on the philosopher Paul Ricoeur. The problem presented in this chapter is the integration of a sufficiently open model, so as the other religions may be freely expressed just as they are, in an identifying way, without giving up their own expression of faith in the encounter with the other. Finally, the goal is to investigate and seek a religious identity which maintains hermeneutic openness to the other while at the same time, maintaining a faith committed to God.
