Resumo:
The following study has the objective of investigating how the messianic character ventilated to the former president of the Republic, Jair Messias Bolsonaro, is evident in speeches of religious leaders of Pentecostals and neo-Pentecostals in regards to the video: "Prayer in favour of Brazil with the presence of Bolsonaro and religious leaders". The first part of this research presents Brazil's political-religious context and religious groups' actions as well as their representativeness in the national scenario. The second part presents concepts related to the political and hero's myth. The third part presents the concepts of a messiah in sociology and teology. In the fourth part, there is an analysis of the speech taken from: "Prayer in favour of Brazil with the presence of Bolsonaro and religious leaders". With the study and speech analysis done, it was possible to highlight the messianic discourse given to the figure of Jair Messias Bolsonaro by the religious leadership.
