Homoafetividade e igreja: uma busca pela igualdade religiosa no âmbito do acolhimento na Comunidade Família Cristã Athos, em Brasília

Abstract

The research theme is homo-affectivity and the church. It is a controversial issue in the ecclesiastical environment and it leads to the exclusion of people. Thus, the so-called inclusive churches, such as the Athos Christian Family Community, from Brasília / DF, empirical basis of the research, emerged. The main objective is to investigate the relationship between the emergence and growth of inclusive churches and the non-reception of the LGBTI public in traditional churches. It reflects on what it is to be a church and what inclusive churches are. It highlights the urgency of contextualized biblical rereading and welcoming as the theological foundation of inclusive churches for the inclusion of LGBTI people. From the qualitative and quantitative research, it is possible to observe people's religious practice and their trajectories until they came to attend the Inclusive Church. The contradictory is perceived in the non-acceptance by the traditional churches, not considering human diversity, in the classification as sinners and in the need for the search for moral regeneration. Thus, inclusive churches end up being a refuge for all LGBTI people who seek the Word of God.
