dc.description.abstract	The goal of this study is to discuss the contributions which constitute the theme “Aspects of the care with the elderly person in current times”, based on the legislations which support and protect the elderly people and the theological approaches. The proposal of the research is to analyze, through literature, the situation in which the elderly people find themselves in the Brazilian model of society. Through the theoretical referential one seeks to understand the pattern of relationship between the elderly population, the families and society. One then perceives a conflict between the two generations, making evident the feeling of impotence which is conferred upon the elderly people facing the younger generations. The methodology used was qualitative, with approaches based on legislation and on theology. In this way the attempt is made to enter into the universe inhabited by the elderly citizens, with the goal of comprehending the various forms of protection so as to later present solutions to the care givers of these people. The research took place in three stages. In the first stage, the elderly person is presented as well as the great challenges of the person’s daily life, pointing out the difficult situations experienced by these people with little possibilities of changes. In the second moment, one deals with the legislation which protects the elderly people, besides the theological approach, in which one observes the way in which the elderly population was treated before and after the Christian era. One perceived that, before, the elderly person had participation in conducting and leading the people and that this person continued being a symbol of respect and transmitter of knowledge to the new generations. In the third moment some solutions are suggested as possibilities to increase and improve the quality of life of the elderly people and of their families, through specialized care takers who are committed to the cause of this generation above 60 years old.	en

dc.description.resumo	O presente trabalho tem como objetivo estudar “aspectos do cuidado com a pessoa idosa na atualidade”, a partir das legislações que amparam e protegem as pessoas idosas e de abordagens teológicas. O pressuposto da pesquisa é analisar por meio de leituras, a situação em que se encontram as pessoas idosas no modelo de sociedade brasileira. No referencial teórico, busca-se entender o padrão de relacionamento entre a população idosa, as famílias e a sociedade. Percebe-se então um conflito entre as duas gerações, evidenciando-se o sentimento de impotência das pessoas idosas diante das gerações mais jovens. A metodologia utilizada é qualitativa, com abordagens a partir da legislação e da teologia. Tenta-se assim, adentrar em um universo habitado por cidadãos idosos, com o objetivo de compreender as diversas formas de proteção, para posteriormente encaminhar propostas de cuidado aos cuidadores dessas pessoas idosas. A pesquisa deu-se em três etapas. Na primeira etapa, apresenta-se a pessoa idosa e os grandes desafios de seu cotidiano, evidenciando-se situações difíceis, vivenciadas por essas pessoas com poucas possibilidades de mudanças. No segundo momento, aborda-se a legislação que protege as pessoas idosas, além da abordagem teológica, na qual se observa a forma como a população idosa era tratada antes e depois da era cristã. Percebeu-se que, antes, a pessoa idosa tinha participação na condução e liderança do povo e que, continuou sendo um símbolo de respeito e transmissor de conhecimentos às novas gerações. No terceiro momento, sugerem-se algumas possibilidades de ações capazes de qualificar a vida das pessoas idosas e de suas famílias, por meio de cuidadores especializados e comprometidos com a causa dessa geração acima de 60 anos.	pt_BR
