Pastoras da IECLB: percepções do seu cotidiano e repercussões contemporâneas

Abstract

This doctoral thesis in Theology portrays a small history of “the role of women pastors in the IECLB” (IGREJA EVANGÉLICA DE CONFISSÃO LUTERANA NO BRASIL) and the consequent development of Feminist Theology in EST/São Leopoldo/IECLB. Survey forms were sent and collected from all ordained IECLB women pastors, including demitted and retired women pastors. The methodological proposal is based on a methodology for social research, based on Creswell and Ganzevoort and consists of two forms with questions and three stimulus letters sent by email, to be completed and returned to the researcher. The research intends to give visibility to the performance of the women pastors in the different fields of work and their dynamics developed there. The results were computed from the themes presented, relating them to the epistemology of Ecotheology in Ivone Gebara and other authors, from four aspects deemed relevant and coherent with the information received, namely: “The body, new starting point of Theology"; “This is not Theology,” they say; “Gender: a matter of honor?”; “When women attract violence”, items theoretically present in the work “Urban Theology” by Ivone Gebara. The critique of pastoral patriarchal power becomes visible in “The Struggle of the Gods” and “Power Relations in Patriarchal Traditions”, also demarcating the “blooming of women on the global stage” and the “perspectives of an ecological religion”. The most relevant aspects raised in the research as eventual conclusions were that a) Being a woman, being a mother, does not interfere in the Pastoral Ministry; b) Intrapersonal experiences with colleagues, congregations and parishes are very important for maintaining the Pastoral Ministry; c) Family pastoral life, broadly speaking, needs to be revisited in its dynamics, especially with regard to the participation of its members in the community expectations present there. Despite the low participation of women pastors from the general ministerial body of the IECLB in the research, it can be said that its results contemplate the general expectation of the thesis, to make visible the role of women pastors in the IECLB.
