Resumo:
The research at hand deals with the theme “Violence against children and adolescents: the reality of those sheltered in the institutional sheltering services in Brazil”. Violence is a phenomenon which affects the physical, psychological and social health of children and adolescents, causes damage which if not treated becomes irreparable. It is configured as one of the most recurrent violations in the cases of denouncements submitted to the organs which make up the system of guarantee of rights, having as perpetrators people from the familial universe of these children and adolescents. In this sense, throughout this paper an analysis of the various forms of violence which children and adolescents suffer every day in Brazilian homes will be developed. Also to be explained, are the psychological and psychiatric consequences which affect people in full development, which is the case of the target public of this study, who end up being sent to the institutional sheltering services because of situations related to recurring aggression, sexual exploitation and abuse, among other reasons which will be the object of the study throughout this discussion. Besides this, a holistic explanation will be presented about violence against children and adolescents, pointing out concepts of themes such as: personality disorders and anxiety, parental alienation, institutional sheltering and psychoses which are pertinent and are part of the theme at issue. The various readings showed that many steps have been taken with regard to the defense and guarantee of the rights of children and adolescents. However, it became clear that there exists a much longer path to be tread for the family to be truly sheltering, educational and protective, thus dispensing the need for the existence of institutional sheltering spaces.
