Music can lead people to be inspired and express their praise to God with all their longings and hope. The goal of this paper is to show how the Christian church, from the first Christian communities, passing through the Lutheran Reformation, up to current times, have used singing to praise God and exercise spirituality. Through social-qualitative and descriptive field research with simple random sampling at a parish of the IECLB one can verify that the worship service continues to be the center of the Christian congregation and singing helps in praising God and in the practice of spirituality. Christian worship, besides the various groups of the congregation, makes of singing a way of expressing identity.the Christian faith and spirituality in a congregational way. One concludes that spirituality is manifested through singing, as the history of the people of God have shown from the times of the first communities up to current times.
