Resumen:
The research highlights the importance of integrating spirituality into citizenship education in schools as a crucial means of preparing conscious, ethical citizens committed to a more just and sustainable society. Recognizing that spiritual values transcend cultural and religious boundaries, this approach promotes an inclusive vision of active citizenship. It highlights the relevance of spirituality in the school context, with a focus on children and adolescents in situations of social vulnerability, a transformative pedagogical element that offers a holistic approach to dealing with the challenges faced by these students. It understands that by strengthening the identity, values and worldview of young people, spirituality enables them to face life's obstacles with resilience and empathy, promoting essential citizenship skills such as tolerance, solidarity and social responsibility. For effective implementation, the need for multidimensional approaches that consider practices such as mindfulness, meditation, teaching ethics and fundamental values, and open dialogue is highlighted. In addition, it mentions that it is important to recognize and address the challenges faced by students in social vulnerability, seeking comprehensive strategies to overcome them. The research also highlights the diversity of religious beliefs and practices in schools and emphasizes the importance of spiritual sharing to promote inter-religious dialogue and create a more welcoming and tolerant school environment. However, it emphasizes that spirituality and its practice are independent of religion. It also highlights solidarity and social responsibility as fundamental values in school relationships, encouraging teamwork and volunteering. Finally, by proposing an innovative approach to incorporating spirituality into the school environment, the research explores games as a way of relating spirituality and citizenship. Based on motivating questions, the game develops a deeper understanding of oneself, other people and the world around one. This practical approach aims not only to transmit knowledge, but also to promote real transformation in the lives of students and in society in general, contributing to a more just, supportive and inclusive society.
