Abstract:
This work examined the emergence and existence of the dechurched group that is today a reality in the evangelical Church. For this reason it investigated and analyzed the antecedents of the movement. Presenting concepts, qualifications of the dechurched, causes for the dechurched, criticism of the Church Institution and the critics and defenders of the dechurched. Furthermore, it also verified and studied some aspects of the history of the Church from the beginning. Using websites and written and published documents, it sought to analyze and verify different conflicting moments that the Church went through at different times. It also studied the perspective of contemporary sociological movements where it sought to explore the influence, the impact, that secularism, modernism, pluralism, theories of individualization, among others, had on the formation of religious conceptions of modern man. Finally, it sought to delve deeper, investigate and research the characteristics, facts, actions and practices that the dechurched saw and heard within the church, which led them to abdicate their faith and ecclesiastical communion; which would be the aspects of the internal movements that occur within the Churches, discouraging everyone who becomes aware. With the objective of identifying the causes, impacts and consequences of of the dechurching. The methodology applied was qualitative, and data collection was carried out especially with bibliographic and documentary material seeking a breadth of information. The research seeks contributions that can be applied to educational life, with regard to welcoming and the need to give more attention from the church to its members, which could reverse the situation in which the dechurched find themselves.
