In order to achieve the proposed objectives and solve the problems that direct the theme in focus, a conceptual approach to care and self-care is presented, contemplating the physical, emotional and psychological dimensions, the reality of teaching in basic education, addressing aspects such as work overload, lack of preparation and illness of teachers, as well as the challenges faced by teachers in a fragmented teaching, where the lack of integration between the different dimensions of life can contribute to physical and emotional wear and tear.It also contemplates the intersection between self-care and spirituality in teaching, which culminates in proposals for self-care practices based on spirituality, considering the peculiarities of contemporary times. Based on the study, it can be concluded that spirituality plays a key role in the self-care of basic education teachers. Therefore, it is essential to value and encourage the implementation of self-care practices based on spirituality, providing educators with spaces and moments to connect with their spiritual dimension. These practices will not only contribute to the promotion of teachers' health, but also to their personal and professional growth, promoting a healthier and more welcoming educational environment.
